Here’s to New Obsessions!

March 26, 2008 at 2:02 am (Random Musings) (, , , , , , )

So after many failed attempts at having pen-pals and writing diaries and even just recently trying to keep up my .mac blog, I am attempting once again to write down my ramblings and musings and daily nonsense for all to see. Hopefully this will become a place where my friends and family can pop in once in a while to see what I’ve been up to when I have forgotten to call them, and also maybe a place to make new friends.

Those who know me know my tendency to obsess over things. When I find something new, like coding the css for this blog for example, I tend to latch onto the idea and run with it till wee hours of the morning and think about it all day at work until it’s just right and perfect. A roadblock usually occurs one to two days later when I realize there is no such thing as perfect and my interest will begin to wane and the project most likely ends up as one more item in my very long list of unfinished projects I will never look at again. This blog so far has been no exception though I’m hoping to finally break out of this terrible pattern I have created for myself and actually follow through on this one. I’m really happy with the way my css turned out (although I can’t seem to find a way to fix the footer and that beccary’s theme was modified by me), I’m also really happy with the way wordpress handles things. I tried blogspot and blog.com but I’m a terrible stickler for consistency and good design – it must be the artist in me – and those other programs drove me insane, which didn’t promote good motivation to keep writing entries. And .mac was awesome, but viewing on a pc could be a nightmare – and when 99.9 percent of all people I know are NOT using macs that can present a small problem in gaining the audience I want.

So here we go. A nice shiny new blog and freshly obsessed over style sheets for your viewing pleasure. Let’s hope it sticks this time :)
